What’s its all really for? — A simple yet complex question I’ve been asking myself for quite a while. What started out over 15 years ago merely as way to document my personal style & love of fashion has overtime, permeated to a place of stale imagery, unoriginal ideas & an overall snooze-fest.
With everything going on in the world: Israel & Iran at war, peaceful protests turning into violent riots, the continuing rise of job lose & an economy literally flailing by the day, just to name a few, now more than ever I’ve been praying for an increase of wisdom, knowledge & understanding. Not just about my personal goals, dreams, desires, etc., but for a renewed mind about life itself.
Hence: “What’s its all really for?”
The acquirement of stuff just to flaunt it & the creating of content for the sake of inclusion & self-admiration has reached an all-time high & for what, a click & a like?
But let me be the first to say that this is something the Holy Spirit often pricks my heart about as I too find myself getting sucked down the over-consumption & self-promotion hole & for that, Lord forgive me!
Now more than ever I’m beginning to understand that though experiences, relationships, goals, etc., aren’t innately wrong, obviously, but in the end, what do they all truly matter?
If none of these things push you closer to Christ, do they really matter? If none of these things encourage you to boldly profess Gospel, do they really matter? If none of these things lead you to live a life leading to eternity w/ Christ, do they really matter?
“What does it profit a man to gain the whole world & loose his own soul?” — Mark 8:36
